Governor Ododo described Pope Francis as a moral giant whose humility, compassion, and commitment to justice left an indelible mark on the world. “His voice consistently reminded the global community of our shared humanity,” the statement read. The governor emphasized that his life was a guiding light in an era marked by turmoil and division.

According to the Kogi government, Pope Francis embodied the virtues of peace, unity, and human dignity, values that resonate deeply with the people of the state. The governor noted that the pontiff’s leadership style, simple yet powerful earned him the respect of not just religious followers but also of world leaders and humanitarian organizations.

Ododo’s message was not just one of mourning but also of celebration. He praised Pope Francis for using his position to fight for the marginalized, advocate for interfaith dialogue, and promote global harmony.
