Lugard TV Host Students to Mark Children’s Day

To commemorate the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, Lugard Television opened its doors to students of GYB Model Science Secondary School, providing them with a hands-on experience in broadcast journalism and newsroom operations.

The initiative, led by the Office of the Special Adviser on Media to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Ismaila Isah, offered participating students the opportunity to explore the inner workings of television production from reporting and presenting to behind-the-scenes technical roles like camera operation and studio management.

As part of the visit, the students toured different departments of the station, met with professional journalists, and engaged in interactive sessions with producers and broadcasters. The experience aimed to spark curiosity and interest in the media industry among the students.

The event also served as a platform to reinforce Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s educational vision, particularly his commitment to promoting youth development, creativity, and inclusion through practical learning and exposure to real-world opportunities.

A major highlight of the day was a historic moment for Lugard TV, a special edition of the station’s flagship News Hour programme featured one of the visiting students, Isa Sekinat, delivering a live news broadcast on air.
