LugardTV, the official digital television platform of the Kogi State Government, has commenced live transmission, one year after its launch.

The live broadcast, which aired from the LugardTV studio at the Government House Media Centre in Lokoja, featured the inaugural edition of LugardTV News Live, positioning the station as a real-time source of public service information and development news within and outside Kogi State.

The platform launched in July 2024 is an initiative of the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Ismaila Isah designed to bridge the gap in public communication, combat misinformation, and ensure transparent dissemination of credible content from the government.

In a statement issued by the Government House Media Team, Hon. Isah described the live transmission as a key deliverable in the long-term media agenda of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

“Going live was one of our foremost goals when LugardTV was launched. This breakthrough represents months of hard work, investment in technical and human resource capacity building. We are proud to deliver a platform that puts credible, real-time information in the hands of the people,” he said.

He commended Governor Ododo for his visionary leadership and continued support for digital innovation in public communication, adding that the administration has remained committed to strengthening institutions that promote transparency and inclusive governance.

Hon. Isah noted that LugardTV will, in the coming weeks, expand its range of live content to include civic education programmes, live coverage of community events, public engagement forums, and development stories across the state’s 21 local government areas.

He reaffirmed commitment to using LugardTV to promote policies and programmes of the government and improve the quality of public dialogue through responsible and professional broadcasting.

LugardTV becomes the first online television platform in Kogi to offer live news content, reinforcing its role as a digital window into activities of the Kogi state government.
