Marcus Rashford Eyes Full-Time Barcelona Move, Says ‘I’m Enjoying Everything’

England forward Marcus Rashford has expressed his desire to remain at Barcelona beyond his current loan spell from Manchester United, hinting at a possible permanent move to the Spanish giants.

Rashford, who joined Barcelona on loan last summer, has quickly established himself as a key player in Xavi Hernández’s squad.

According to reports, Barcelona could make the transfer permanent for a fee of around £28 million significantly lower than the £40 million Manchester United are said to be demanding from other interested clubs.

The 27-year-old’s contract at Old Trafford runs until 2028, but his future under new United manager Ruben Amorim appears uncertain amid reports he is not part of the coach’s long-term plans.

Rashford’s performances in Spain have drawn praise from fans and pundits alike, with Barcelona reportedly impressed by his attitude, work rate, and seamless adaptation to La Liga football.

In an interview with ESPN, the England international said “For sure” when asked if he hoped to stay, adding that he was relishing his time at the club. “Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game,” he said. “It’s an honour to play for them.”

Since arriving at Camp Nou, Rashford has scored five goals in 12 appearances, including a brace in Barcelona’s recent UEFA Champions League victory over Olympiakos.

His resurgence follows a productive short spell under Unai Emery at Aston Villa last season, which helped him regain confidence after a challenging period at Old Trafford.

Rashford is now preparing for his first El Clásico appearance against Real Madrid this weekend, a milestone he described as a reflection of how much he’s thriving in his new environment. “It’s a big moment for me, and it shows how much I’ve benefited from this change,” he said.

Reflecting on his time at Manchester United, where he spent over two decades, Rashford acknowledged the emotional weight of leaving his boyhood club.

“People forget this, but 23 years of my life was with Manchester United,” he said. “Sometimes you just need a change. Maybe this move was what I needed, and I’m enjoying everything.”
