The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims nationwide. This new adjustment marks a notable decrease from the rates charged in 2025, offering financial relief to prospective pilgrims.
NAHCON, in a photo statement posted on X Monday, said the fare adjustments were made to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa zones will pay ₦7,579,020.96 for the 2026 Hajj, following a ₦748,104.63 decrease from the ₦8,327,125.59 charged in 2025, according to the National Hajj Commission.
Likewise, pilgrims from the Northern Zone will now pay ₦7,696,769.76 for the 2026 Hajj, marking a reduction of ₦760,915.83 from the ₦8,457,685.59 paid in 2025.
In the Southern Zone, the new fare is ₦7,991,141.76 – ₦792,943.83 less than the 2025 rate of ₦8,784,085.59.
The commission also announced December 5, 2025, as the new payment deadline for all intending pilgrims.
Pilgrims are advised to complete their payments by this date to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj.
