…. Hails His Leadership and Community Impact
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has officially welcomed prominent businessman and philanthropist from Kogi West, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The grand reception held on last Friday at Iyara, in Ijumu Local Government Area, attracted a massive crowd of political leaders, party supporters from Okun land.
Governor Ododo described the day as “a remarkable moment in the political history of Ijumu, Kogi West, and Kogi State,” noting that Prince Olusoji’s decision to join the APC is a major boost to the party’s growth and inclusiveness.
The governor praised the new Prince Olusoji as “a man embedded with integrity, exceptional commitment to humanity, and a good son of Kogi State.”
He highlighted Prince Olusoji’s longstanding contributions to education, human empowerment, and community development, citing scholarships awarded to students of the Kogi State Colleges of Education in Ankpa and Mopa, as well as several interventions worth millions of naira across communities in Kogi State.
Governor Ododo also acknowledged the former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori for mentoring Prince Olusoji, saying “the seed planted in him is today benefiting Kogi State.”
According to the governor, Prince Olusoji’s entry into the APC shows that credible men and women are stepping forward to join the movement of progress driven by his administration.
Ododo reiterated that the APC in Kogi State stands for unity, development, and inclusive governance.
“Politics in Kogi State is no longer about division; it is about development. We will continue to partner with men and women of capacity like Prince Olatunji Olusoji to make Kogi a model of inclusive growth,” he said.
The governor also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the enabling environment that allows the state government to deliver measurable improvements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and agriculture.
In his remarks, the APC State Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, commended Prince Olusoji’s decision to join the ruling party, describing him as “a golden fish with a large heart.”
He emphasized that Prince Olusoji’s membership further solidifies APC’s dominance in Kogi West and strengthens the party’s capacity to achieve its electoral promises.
In his response, Prince Olatunji Olusoji thanked Governor Ododo for his leadership and support, describing him as a good man whose sincerity inspired his decision to join the APC.
He declared openly:
“There is no vacancy in Lugard House come 2027. Your second term is sacrosanct. Ododo again and again!”
Prince Olusoji pledged to lead the governor’s re-election campaign across Okun land, asserting that no political force can stand against Governor Ododo’s second term bid.
He expressed appreciation to former Governor Yahaya Bello and Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for their guidance and support.
To commemorate his official defection to the APC, Prince Olusoji empowered residents of Ayere community and other parts of Okun land with essential items, including motorcycles, sewing machines, deep freezers, and grinding machines—further demonstrating his commitment to grassroots development and economic wellbeing of the people.
