Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on the people of Ebira nation to embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility for development.
The Governor made the call when he visited Obehira community in Okene local government area where he urged the people to serve as good ambassadors of their communities, stressing that the era of thuggery and political violence has come to an end in Ebira land.
He cautioned youths against allowing themselves to be used as agents of destruction, noting that their energy should be channeled toward productive and lawful pursuits.
Governor Ododo also emphasized the importance of community vigilance in tackling insecurity.
He further urged residents to be mindful of those living within their communities warning that anyone found harbouring criminal elements would face appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law.
Speaking at the event, State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Bello, called on party members to take the APC electronic membership registration exercise seriously.
He explained that the exercise formally validates individuals as bona fide members of the party.
Bello expressed appreciation to the Obehira Community for its continued support for the APC and the administration of Governor Ododo.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Avabe Unity Club, Nasiru Bello, who spoke on behalf of the Obehira Community, commended the Governor for his efforts in combating insecurity across the state.
He also praised the Governor’s efforts in infrastructural development and assured the Governor of the community’s unwavering support for the current administration.
