The Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, has provided essential security equipment to operatives working across Mopamuro, Yagba East, and Yagba West Local Government Areas, in a move aimed at strengthening security and addressing growing concerns over insecurity in the area.
The intervention includes the distribution of motorcycles, Toyota Tacoma heavy-duty vehicles, and other critical security equipment to the local security outfit code named Lion Squad.
According to the lawmaker, the effort is designed to enhance mobility, improve operational efficiency, and enable faster response to security threats across the constituency.
He said the initiative was informed by security risk assessments and the development of strategic frameworks focused on improving community safety through structured and policy-driven measures.
He noted that strengthening the logistical capacity of the Lion Squad is intended to complement the work of conventional security agencies in curbing criminal activities and safeguarding lives and property within the constituency.
