FUL Charges New Students on Academic Excellence

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Lokoja, has formally welcomed its fresh students into the university community, charging them to embrace good character, integrity, and hard work as they begin their academic journey.

Speaking during the Faculty of Social Sciences Freshers’ Welcome Programme held at the university campus, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Gbenga Omofah called on the new students to embrace values required for academic excellence and responsible conduct.

He urged the students to embrace dignity, integrity, and respect, noting that character plays a key role in shaping opportunities in life.

Professor Omofah also
cautioned the new students against acts of vandalism, calling on them to take responsibility for school facilities and protect their learning environment.

He further reminded the students that maintaining good behaviour within and outside the classroom would not only bring pride to their parents but also contribute positively to the image of the university.

Also speaking at the event, the Faculty President, Comrade Ahmed Suleiman, encouraged the freshers to embrace hard work, discipline, and consistency, stressing that academic success is a product of dedication and commitment.

He implored them to be of good behaviour and find a healthy balance while navigating life within the university community.

The programme featured panel discussions, launch of the faculty stationery, and talent showcase by students of the Faculty.
