In a renewed drive to strengthen democratic outcomes through collaboration, the Kogi State Government has convened a one-day inter-ministerial engagement bringing together Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), private sector players, and international partners towards achieving sustainable development.
The meeting, organised by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-Governmental Affairs, focused on synergy, strategic alignment, support systems, and sustainability as drivers of socio-economic development.
Speaking at the engagement, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Abdulrasheed Ovosi, described the forum as a strategic platform to foster multi-sector collaboration.
He stated that the initiative is a brainchild of the Kogi State Governor, aimed at strengthening coordination and providing a platform for government institutions, development partners, and the private sector to connect and explore partnerships capable of unlocking the state’s development agenda.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Lugard Okenobo stressed the need for technically-driven professionals to modernise and strengthen existing policies to ensure effective implementation and measurable impact.
He emphasised improved processes, efficient resource mobilisation, and sustained collaboration across all tiers of government.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo represented by the Head of Civil Service, Hajia Falilat Musa, described the engagement as a strategic intervention aimed at advancing institutional reforms.
She stressed the importance of institutional reforms, noting that the convergence of MDAs, private sector actors, and international partners creates enabling environment to leverage global best practices, technical expertise, and strategic support for sustainable governance and development in the state.
