Cleric Commends Ododo’s Inclusive Governance

The Vicar of the Anglican Church, Eika-Oku in Okengwe, Okene Local Government Area, Pastor Philip Omeiza, has commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what he described as fair and inclusive leadership in the state.

Omeiza gave the commendation during the funeral and thanksgiving service of the late Mrs. Mary Titi Anaza, mother of the Provost of the College of Nursing, Obangede, Mr. James Anaza, who died at the age of 100 and was laid to rest in Okengwe last week.

Speaking at the service, the cleric said the recent appointment of Mr. James Anaza as Provost of the College of Nursing, Obangede, reflects merit and professionalism and devoid of religious bias. He noted that the governor’s approach to governance has strengthened unity and public confidence in the present administration.

“The appointment was not influenced by religious sentiment but was based strictly on merit; such level of fairness promotes trust and cohesion among the people,” Omeiza stated.

In his remarks, James Anaza disclosed that Governor Ododo sent a condolence message to the family through the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State describing the gesture as reassuring and a sign of responsive leadership.

Anaza described his late mother as a devoted Christian who nurtured him with prayers and wise counsel. He said her commitment to faith and her teachings to trust in God remain his greatest inheritance.

He expressed appreciation to those who attended the service for their support, prayers and solidarity during the period of mourning.

The ceremony attracted dignitaries, clerics, family members and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the centenarian with tributes highlighting her humility, resilience and enduring impact on her family and community.
