Ex-Kogi Lawmaker Backs Ododo for Second Term

Former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ododo Moses, has declared support for the re-election of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, saying the governor deserves a second term to consolidate on the development recorded in the state.

Moses, who represented the Dekina/Biraidu state constituency from 2015 to 2023, made the declaration on Sunday, while speaking with journalists in Lokoja.

He noted that the governor’s performance in key sectors such as security, infrastructure development, agriculture, health, education and human capital development has positioned him as a leader deserving another term in office.

According to him, the governor’s style of governance has been impressive, particularly his commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners.

“Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s style of governance is highly commendable. He ensures that workers receive their salaries on or before the 25th of every month, while pensioners are also paid promptly,” he said.

He added that Ododo’s administration cleared outstanding salary arrears owed to workers and has also implemented promotion benefits.

Speaking on infrastructure development, Moses pointed to the ongoing construction of 10-kilometre township roads in the 21 local government areas of the state as evidence of the administration’s commitment to grassroots development.

He further commended the governor for prioritising education, noting that the three state-owned universities alongside other tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools, are receiving adequate funding under the present administration.
