AGS Okala, Wife Empower Women in Dekina

The Women Wing of Okala Support Group for Tinubu and Ododo 2027 has empowered women and vulnerable members of different communities in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State

The empowerment programme held at Ajioyolo in Dekina Local Government Area saw hundreds of women receive sewing machines, food items, wrappers and cash to enhance their livelihoods and promote economic self-reliance.

Wife of the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mrs Margret Oyibo, who flagged-off the programme, described the initiative as a commendable intervention that would positively impact women and vulnerable members of the society.

She commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Auditor-General of Kogi State, Alhaji Yakubu Okala, for their commitment to improving the welfare of women and vulnerable persons across the state.

Earlier, the convener of the programme and wife of the Auditor-General of Kogi State, Mrs. Jemilat Yakubu Okala, said the initiative was designed to empower women, reduce hardship and promote economic independence among beneficiaries.

Mrs.Okala expressed appreciation to the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, for her continuous support for women-focused initiatives.

She further expressed gratitude to her husband, Alhaji Yakubu Okala for supporting the successful execution of the programme.

Mrs.Okala reaffirmed the commitment of the Okala Women Wing Support Group to supporting women, vulnerable persons, and grassroots development in Dekina Local Government Area.

In their separate remarks, the Ejeh Dekina, HRH Usman Obaje, and the Vice Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. Rasheedat Abdullahi, commended the organiser, Mrs. Jemilat Yakubu Okala, for her foresight and commitment to empowering women to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the development of their families and communities.
