Kogi NUJ Honours KGIRS Chairman for Revenue Reforms

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, has honoured the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), Dr Sule Salihu Enehe, with an Award for Excellence in recognition of his contributions to revenue administration in the state.

The award was presented during the 2026 NUJ Press Week at the NUJ Secretariat in Lokoja.

Dr Enehe was recognised as the Best Performing Revenue Chairman for his reforms, transparency, accountability and contribution to the growth of the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

In his acceptance speech, Enehe described the award as a call to greater service and dedicated it to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing the political will and enabling environment for revenue reforms.

He also acknowledged the management and staff of KGIRS for their commitment, as well as the NUJ for promoting professionalism in journalism.

Enehe commended the NUJ for its partnership with the revenue service, noting that objective and balanced reportage has helped citizens understand taxation as a partnership for development rather than a form of punishment.

He said the recognition will motivate the service to improve its performance and ensure that revenue collected was effectively utilised.

The award recognises KGIRS’s efforts in revenue administration and reforms in Kogi State.
