President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the remarkable strides recorded in security, governance and infrastructure development, urging him to sustain the momentum in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
President Tinubu gave the commendation when he received Governor Ododo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, where the Governor briefed him on the security situation and ongoing development efforts in Kogi State.
According to a statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, President Tinubu praised the Governor’s efforts in consolidating peace, improving governance and ensuring development across the state.
He encouraged Governor Ododo to remain steadfast in his commitment to transforming Kogi for the benefit of present and future generations.
During the meeting, Governor Ododo expressed profound appreciation to the President for his unwavering support and strategic interventions, describing the Tinubu investments in infrastructure, security, economic reforms and other people-centred policies by the federal government under President Tinubu as key drivers of development in Kogi State.
The Governor also briefed the President on the security situation in the state, highlighting the significant progress made in the fight against banditry and terrorism through sustained collaboration between the Federal Government, security agencies and the Kogi State Government.
He noted that the President’s support has further strengthened efforts to safeguard lives and property while consolidating lasting peace across the state.
Governor Ododo said his administration will continue to sustain partnership with the Federal Government to deepen security, expand development and improve the welfare of the people of the State.
