The Native Boy Movement has taken its empowerment campaign for youths, women and the less privileged across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State, with a call for continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The initiative, sponsored by the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Citizens’ Rights, Hon. David Excel Onuche, was held in Okene, Kabba and Ofu Local Government Areas, covering Kogi Central, Kogi West and Kogi East respectively.
Speaking during the exercise, Onuche said the initiative was an extension of Governor Ododo’s efforts to empower youths and women and promote inclusion in the development of the state.
He said the decision to take the programme across the three senatorial districts was deliberate, adding that it was designed to ensure that residents in different parts of the state benefit from the initiative.
Onuche also highlighted the administration’s emphasis on unity, saying the programme reflected the belief that people from Kogi East, Central and West could work together and identify as one people in a united Kogi State.
He urged residents to support the APC’s continuity agenda, calling for support for President Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Ododo at the state level.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Matters and Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers to the Governor, Bode Adeyemi, said the initiative is a way of giving back to people at the grassroots whose support contributed to the victory of the present administration.
Adeyemi said the engagements provided an opportunity to interact with residents, understand their needs and identify areas of support.
He added that the exercise was also part of efforts to engage the grassroots ahead of the 2027 general elections and mobilise support for President Tinubu and APC candidates.
Adeyemi urged residents to maintain confidence in the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, citing government programmes and interventions which are targeted at improving citizens’ welfare.
The campaign featured empowerment for youths, women and less-privileged residents, alongside grassroots engagement and advocacy for the continuity of the administration of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.
