The Kogi State Government has handed over the Kabba Water Scheme to Dalfam Nigeria Limited for immediate rehabilitation, restoration and expansion to improve access to potable water in Kabba town.
The handover was performed on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Farouk.
The project is expected to restore and expand the facility to ensure a reliable supply of clean, potable water to residents of Kabba, with completion scheduled for on or before December 31, 2026.
Engr. Farouk said the project reflects Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to providing basic amenities and improving potable water supply to communities across the state.
He cautioned the contractor against poor-quality of work, stressing the need to adhere strictly to approved specifications and ensure value for money.
“The government of the Chief Servant is committed to excellence in all sectors. Water is not an exception. You must therefore ensure value for money, carry out the job well to earn the confidence reposed on you,” he said.
In his response, the Site Manager of Dalfam Nigeria Limited, Engr. Babangida Yusuf, thanked Governor Ododo for the confidence reposed in the company through the award of the contract.
Yusuf assured the government and residents of Kabba that the company would complete and deliver the project before the December 31, 2026, deadline.
