The Editorial Board of the Lugard House Monthly Newsletter and journalists at LugardTV have congratulated Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo on his appointment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kogi State Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election.

The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah, was also named Deputy Coordinating Director, Media and Strategic Communication. Both appointments were announced as part of the party’s campaign structure in the state.

In their reaction, the Editorial Board and the journalists described the appointments as recognition of the two men’s contributions to public service, media relations and strategic communication. They said they were confident that Fanwo and Isah would draw on their experience in their new roles.

They added that the appointments would give both media professionals another opportunity to contribute to political communication, stakeholder engagement and the effective dissemination of the party’s message ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The Board also commended Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who chairs the council, as well as other political leaders and stakeholders given responsibilities in the campaign structure.

The Editorial Board and journalists wished Fanwo and Isah success and expressed optimism that their experience in information management, media engagement and strategic communication would help them discharge their duties.

The council’s patrons are former Governor Yahaya Bello, former Governor Idris Wada, Arc Yomi Awoniyi and Chief Edward Onoja.

Senator Smart Adeyemi will serve as Director-General. Ali Bello has been appointed Kogi State Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator, with Hilary Ojomah Egwudah as his deputy.

The 2027 general election is scheduled to hold in Nigeria next year.
