Kogi Govt Backs Youth Security Summit, Empowernment

Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development, pledging strategic support for initiatives that promote peace, security and active youth participation across the state.

The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah, gave the assurance while receiving the leadership of the Kogi State Youth Council during a courtesy visit to his office in Lokoja.

The Special Adviser pledged collaboration towards the successful hosting of the Council’s forthcoming Youth Security Summit.

Isah said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration remains deliberate in creating opportunities for young people, stressing that meaningful youth engagement is essential to innovation, economic growth and sustainable development.

He described the proposed Youth Security Summit as a timely initiative that aligns with the Governor’s vision of building a peaceful, secure and prosperous Kogi State.

The Special Adviser noted that security remains a cardinal priority of the Ododo administration, emphasizing that sustained progress in road infrastructure, education, healthcare and other key sectors can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and stability.

He commended the Youth Council for its proactive efforts in mobilising young people towards constructive engagement and nation-building.

Earlier, Chairman of the Kogi State Youth Council, Comrade Abdulrahaman Enesi, said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser on Media, particularly in the area of media partnership.

He appealed for support in promoting the Council’s activities, especially the Youth Security Summit slated for September, expressing confidence that the partnership would boost public awareness and ensure the success of the programme.
