FUL Receives Advanced CCTV Surveillance System as Philanthropist Strengthens Campus Security

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has received an advanced Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance system in a move aimed at strengthening security across its campuses.

The security equipment was donated by renowned philanthropist, Hon. Chief Empire Iweha, President General of the Igbo Youth Congress (IYC) and Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Surveillance. The donation underscores his continued support for the growth, safety, and development of the institution.

Presenting the equipment, Chief Iweha described the gesture as his “little support” toward ensuring that the university continues to operate in a safe and secure environment. He also commended the administration of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, describing him as a visionary leader committed to transforming the institution.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the university, Prof. Ibileye expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that the CCTV system would significantly improve surveillance, enhance the protection of lives and property, and strengthen the university’s overall security architecture.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to creating a secure learning environment through strategic partnerships with individuals, organisations, and security agencies. He added that the donation aligns with ongoing efforts by the university to improve campus safety and safeguard critical infrastructure.

The latest donation comes as Federal University Lokoja continues to intensify collaborations with security stakeholders and invest in modern security measures to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors across its campuses.
