Gov. Ododo Approves land allocation for Federal Workers in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the allocation of land for over 25,000 staff of federal establishments in Kogi state

The governor also announced plans to support the construction of a female students’ hostel being built by the association at the Federal University Lokoja.

Governor Ododo made this known when he received members of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in Kogi State at the Government House in Lokoja.

Then Governor described the over 25,000 federal workers serving in the state as critical partners in governance and development, stressing that his administration recognizes the contribution of federal workers and their agencies and would continue to create an enabling environment for their welfare and professional engagement through land allocation for home ownership among other interventions.

Gov. Ododo commended the Association for its commitment to complementing efforts by the government through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, particularly in education.

He assured the delegation that the primary school supported by the Association earlier relocated to pave the way for the new International Market would not be abandoned, directing the Commissioner for Education to ensure its continued operation.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Association and Kogi State Coordinator of the Federal Character Commission, Gabriel Usman, disclosed that Kogi State hosts 114 federal agencies with over 25,000 employees.

He also sought the appointment of a Special Adviser on Federal Establishments to be appointed from amongst members of the Association.
