Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends, bloggers and social media users to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, space to recover amid their lingering marital crisis.

Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his social media page on Monday, expressing concern over the actress’s well-being and the circulation of what he described as false reports about her health and personal life.

He said the appeal was also necessary for their children, who deserved to see their mother supported as she worked towards recovery.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space.

“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better,” he said.

Nwoko said Daniels had faced difficulties that the public might not fully understand, urging people to show compassion rather than judge or criticise her.

He also condemned the circulation of fabricated death announcements and other reports about the actress, warning that those responsible for spreading false information could face legal action.

The senator said such publications were being documented and that those responsible would be held accountable through appropriate legal channels.

The statement comes amid the public marital dispute between Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, and Daniels, which became public in October 2025.

The couple married in 2019 and have two sons together.

Daniels had accused Nwoko of abusive and controlling behaviour, allegations he denied. Nwoko, in turn, attributed their marital problems to alleged substance abuse by the actress, a claim she disputed.

On October 10, 2026, Daniels marked her birthday with a social media video in which she spoke about health challenges that had affected her mobility and kept her away from social media.

Referring to the video, Nwoko said it offered the public a glimpse into the challenges she had been facing.
