Kogi Central SSAs Reaffirm Support for Gov. Ododo, Launch New Secretariat in Okene

Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) to the Kogi State Governor from Kogi Central Senatorial District have reaffirmed their collective support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, restructuring their leadership and inaugurating a new Secretariat to deepen grassroots coordination.

The forum, which convened at the Ohinoyi’s Palace in Okene, reinstated Hon. Abdulhamid Aminu Okene as Chairman after a unanimous decision by members and consultations with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal leadership. The move, they said, was aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and enhancing performance across the district.

According to the Acting Public Relations Officer of the Forum, Hon. Suleiman Ajagu, the meeting also led to the appointment of new executive officers to fill strategic roles. Hon. Yakubu Suberu (Okehi) was named Vice Chairman, Hon. Yakubu Saka Onuja (Ajaokuta) as Secretary, Hon. Halimat Yahaya (Adavi) as Treasurer, while Hajia Ahmed Bilkisu (Okene) was appointed as Women Leader.

A key highlight of the meeting was the official commissioning of the Forum’s new Secretariat in Okene. The facility, donated by Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed, was inaugurated by the APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Muazu Anumoku, and is expected to serve as the Forum’s operational hub for strategic planning and public engagement.

Ajagu described the Secretariat as a milestone that will enhance coordination and provide an institutional base for aligning the Forum’s activities with the priorities of Governor Ododo’s administration. He emphasized the group’s readiness to play a more structured role in driving political mobilization and programme delivery in Kogi Central.

In a show of solidarity with ongoing development efforts, the Forum also endorsed the Grassroots Ododo Youth Development Empowerment Programme (GOYDEP), an initiative of Hon. Zubairu Adinoyi Jamiu. The programme is set to be implemented in collaboration with the HASOYEF Foundation, with support from the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo.
