Newcastle Yet to Receive Formal Bid for Alexander Isak – Howe

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that the club is yet to receive any formal offer for star striker Alexander Isak amid ongoing speculation linking him with a summer move. The 25-year-old Swede, who was left out of the team’s pre-season tour of Asia, is said to be exploring his options.

Despite reports of Liverpool maintaining interest in Isak even after their acquisition of Hugo Ekitike for £69 million. Howe insisted that Newcastle remains in control of the player’s future. Speaking at a press conference in Seoul, Howe reiterated that Isak is “still our player” and under contract, while acknowledging that his own influence on the final decision is limited.

“We have received no formal offer for Alex from any club,” Howe said. “He’s contracted to us and my desire is that he stays. But I admit that I am not fully in control of what happens next.”

Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for £60 million, has been pivotal for the Magpies, netting 62 goals in 109 appearances. His tally of 27 goals across all competitions last season further solidified his value as one of Europe’s top forwards.

Newcastle have maintained their stance that Isak is not for sale, but with major clubs circling and the transfer window still open, his future remains one of the most closely watched storylines of the summer.
