Earlier, Chairman of the House Committee on Lands, Environment, Ecological Management, and Climate Change, Hon. Jibril Onoruoiza Abu, said the Assembly is committed to driving sustainability and community empowerment through innovative solutions.

He explained that the engagement with Cal-Maji Foundation would provide a framework for food security, job creation, and climate resilience.

“The House recognizes the urgency of sustainable approaches in agriculture, water, and the environment. We welcome partnerships that align with our vision of empowering communities and safeguarding livelihoods,” he said.

Also speaking, Project Director of the Cal-Maji Foundation, Faith Ayegba, reaffirmed the Foundation’s readiness to collaborate with the state government in promoting organic farming, regenerative agriculture, and agroecological practices.

She described these approaches as crucial to addressing soil degradation, food insecurity, and the broader challenges of climate change.

In separate remarks, the Commissioners for Agriculture, Water Resources, and Environment commended the initiative, pledged their ministries’ support, lauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a leadership style that places the welfare of the people first while demonstrating strong commitment to sustainability.
