KGIRS Endorses Lugard House Monthly Newsletter

The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS) has pledged stronger collaboration with the media to deepen transparency and public understanding of government policies as they relate to taxation.

The Executive Chairman of KGIRS, Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe, made this known when he received the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah, and his team on a courtesy visit to the organization’s headquarters in Lokoja.

During the visit, Ismaila Isah presented the September edition of the Lugard House Monthly Newsletter to the KGIRS Chairman, describing the publication as a vital tool for promoting openness in governance and documenting the achievements of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.

He commended KGIRS for its leadership in driving reforms and innovation in revenue generation that have enhanced accountability and citizens’ confidence in government.

He thanked the KGIRS management for its openness and support, pledging that the media will continue to project the activities of the Ododo administration responsibly, promote compliance among taxpayers, and sustain trust between government and the people.

In response, Enehe applauded the professionalism of the media office of Governor Ododo and expressed readiness to partner with Lugard TV and the Newsletter to further strengthen public enlightenment.

He described the exchange as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and a data-driven approach to governance.

The KGIRS Chairman noted that Kogi’s public image has improved in recent years due to deliberate communication efforts and consistent media engagement.

He said such partnerships ensure citizens are better informed about government programmes and how taxes are utilized for the development of the state.
