French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged France’s solidarity with Nigeria amidst escalating security threats, particularly terrorism in the Northern region.

In a statement released and signed on Sunday by Macron, the French President reaffirmed France’s readiness to stand with Nigeria in it’s efforts to restore peace and stability.

“At his request, we will strengthen our partnership with the authorities and our support for the affected populations,” Macron said, calling on international partners to increase their engagement. “No one can remain a spectator.”

He further noted that Nigeria’s security challenges requires a coordinated international response, pledging that France will enhance it’s cooperation with the country in addressing emerging threats.
