Gov. Ododo Flags Off APC E-Registration in Kogi, Pledges Loyalty to Tinubu, Party Reforms

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has flagged off the electronic membership registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, describing the initiative as a major step toward modernising party organisation and deepening grassroots political participation.

The flag-off took place on Monday at Upogoro, Okene Local Government Area, where the governor personally enrolled at his polling unit, RCM 001, Upogoro Ward, marking the official commencement of the APC’s digital registration exercise in Kogi, days ahead of the nationally scheduled start date of January 2, 2026.

Speaking at the event, Governor Ododo reaffirmed the commitment of the APC in Kogi State to the national leadership of the party and to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he commended for promoting innovation-driven governance.

According to the governor, the early rollout of the electronic registration exercise reflects Kogi State’s readiness to lead in the implementation of party reforms.

“We are here in Upogoro to carry out our party responsibility and to demonstrate our commitment to Mr President and APC. This e-registration is about transparency, security and building a modern party structure that reflects the Nigeria President Tinubu is building,” he said.

Governor Ododo also commended the APC national leadership under the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, noting that the digital registration framework aligns with the APC’s broader reform agenda.

He further acknowledged former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for laying a solid foundation for development in the state, citing visible progress in Upogoro and other communities as evidence of Bello’s transformative leadership.

“Kogi Central remains firmly APC, and APC remains the platform for the aspirations of our people,” the governor added, urging residents to continue supporting his administration to sustain the delivery of dividends of democracy.

In his remarks, the Kogi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, praised Governor Ododo for his hands-on leadership style and strong alignment with the administration of President Tinubu. He described the electronic registration system as a critical tool for building a credible and enduring party membership database.

“We need a register that can stand the test of time,” he said, adding that the governor has demonstrated leadership by example.

He assured that the APC in Kogi State would continue to support the policies and programmes of the Ododo administration to ensure their success.

The flag-off ceremony attracted a large turnout of party stakeholders, youth groups and community leaders, who welcomed the digital platform as the new official system for APC membership authentication in the state.

With the early launch of the exercise, Kogi State joins the first set of states to activate full implementation of the APC’s nationwide digital membership registration initiative.
