Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on well meaning sons and daughters of Ihima to be united in their its commitment to promote community development.
The Governor gave the commendation during brief stop at a medical outreach organised by members of the Ihima Elite Initiative in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of the state.
He described members of the group as true sons and daughters of their community, whose selfless contributions are positively impacting the lives of the people.
Governor Ododo urged youths across the state to emulate the laudable gesture of the group and remain good ambassadors of their respective communities through acts of service and kindness to one another.
Earlier, the Governor made a stop at opening of the Ikuehi Central Mosque renovated by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Ozigi Deedat where he called for unity, collaboration, and peaceful coexistence among Muslims Ummah in Ihima community and across Ebiraland.
Governor Ododo emphasized that the mosque should serve as a symbol of unity rather than a source of division, rancour, or conflict, stressing that the people it is important for the people to remain united and jettison affiliations that promote disunity.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Ozigi Deedat noted that the intervention reflects the state government’s commitment to promoting harmony among the people.
He urged residents to continue being their brothers’ keepers and promote the interest of the community.
He further assured that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains dedicated to delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State in significant ways.
