The Academic Elites of EbiraLand (AEE) Foundation has conferred an Honorary Ambassadorship on the Special Adviser on Media to Kogi State Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah.
The group said the honour is in recognition of his contributions to education advocacy and youth development.
The recognition was announced during the Foundation’s 9th Educational Seminar and Conference, held in Okene.
Speaking after receiving the award, Hon. Isah expressed gratitude to the Foundation and described the initiative as a strategic platform for grooming future leaders in academia and the education sector.
He commended the Foundation’s consistency since 2015, noting that its sustained commitment to education remains a source of pride for EbiraLand.
He emphasised that exposure to inspiring academic environments plays a crucial role in mindset reorientation and societal development.
Hon. Isah urged participants to return to their communities as ambassadors of positive change, encouraging young people to focus on opportunities rather than limitations despite challenges.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to education, he stated that the current administration supports initiatives that align with its educational development agenda.
He cited recent achievements including the state’s ranking as having the least number of out-of-school children in Nigeria, the introduction of conditional cash transfers for adolescent girls, and legislation mandating government payment for external examinations from primary to secondary school levels as key highlights of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the last two years.
According to him, the state reduced its out-of-school population by nearly 200,000 within one year, describing the achievement as evidence of deliberate and impactful policy actions.
Hon. Isah assured the Foundation that, following his induction as an ambassador, he would present AEE as a committed partner in advancing the state’s educational development agenda.
He concluded by commending the organisers for their dedication, resilience, and growing impact, while expressing optimism that the Foundation would attract grants, expand its activities, and remain united and sustainable.
The two-day programme organised to promote educational excellence at the grassroots level, attracted pupils, students, educators, and academic institutions from across Nigeria.
