The Special Adviser on Media to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, has paid a courtesy visit to the founder of EBICOMNEWS, a media platform credited with promoting the image and cultural identity of the Ebira nation, HRH, Adayi Sheidu Ibrahim.
Speaking during the visit, the Special Adviser on Media acknowledged the enduring legacy of the EBICOMNEWS founder, HRH, Sheidu Ibrahim, who now holds a traditional title in his community in Ageva, Okene Local Government, noting that his pioneering efforts in community media advocacy has laid a strong foundation for the younger generation.
He emphasized the responsibility of media practitioners to continue to use journalism as a tool to guide, educate, and promote peaceful coexistence and goodwill within society.
In his response, the founder of EBICOMNEWS expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a rare and meaningful gesture.
He noted that it was the first time an elder statesman who has long been involved in media and public relations at both state and national levels had been formally recognized in such a manner.
Reflecting on the history of EBICOMNEWS, he stated that the platform operated for 27 years and was known for its commitment to factual and responsible reporting.
He urged the Kogi state government to improve on the level engagement with stakeholders in projecting achievements of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stressing that in an era of widespread misinformation, there should be no limit to using credibile platforms in promoting performance of the government.
