Gov. Ododo Inspects Projects in Mopamuro, Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Grassroots Development

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has undertaken an inspection tour of key projects in Mopamuro Local Government Area, commending the community for the prevailing peace and reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots development.

The Governor praised the people of the area who are serving in his administration, describing their contributions as diligent and result-driven.

Governor Ododo who had earlier visited the Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of the Mopamuro Local Government Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, applauded the traditional institution for its stabilising role, noting that peace and order remain the bedrock of development in the area.

He charged the traditional rulers to exercise caution in the release of communal lands to any individual or group of persons.

He warned against leasing lands to individuals without due diligence, stressing that the state’s rich mineral resources have made some areas vulnerable to security threats.

In his remarks, Oba Ibeun described Mopa as the spiritual headquarters of Okunland and assured the Governor of the unwavering support of the traditional institution.

He pledged that Mopamuro would stand solidly behind Governor Ododo’s administration, particularly as the state approaches 2027.

The monarch expressed gratitude for the Governor’s development strides in Mopamuro and the wider Okunland, presenting him with the Award of the Champion of Mopamuro Development in recognition of the construction of the Mopamuro Township road.

As part of the tour, Governor Ododo inspected the Mopamuro Township road, including the construction of a triple-cell box culvert at the Olu Ezekiel Link Road, Mopa.

He commended the Commissioner for Works for the quality and timely delivery of the project, as well as the decision to source labour locally.

The Governor also thanked the community for its cooperation throughout the construction process.

At the College of Education (Technical), Mopa, the Governor expressed delight at the progress of projects being undertaken at the institution.

He praised the Provost and management for their commitment to giving back to society through infrastructure development.

Earlier, the Provost of the college, Dr. Muhammed Kabir, commended Governor Ododo for his developmental interventions, revealing that several infrastructure projects are currently underway at the institution’s permanent site.

He noted that the visit underscored Governor Ododo’s hands-on approach to governance and his resolve to deepen development, strengthen security, and sustain peace across Kogi State.
