Arsenal’s run to the Champions League final has somehow flown under the radar, despite the scale of the achievement.
With immense pressure on Mikel Arteta’s side to finally end a 22-year Premier League title drought, their impressive unbeaten journey to the final in Budapest hasn’t received the recognition it merits.
Bukayo Saka’s first-half finish sealed a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final, completing a 2-1 aggregate win and booking their place in the showpiece event.
While their performance at the Emirates wasn’t their most dazzling, some of Arsenal’s standout displays this season have come in Europe. They remain the only unbeaten team left in the competition, having overcome heavyweights like Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Sporting.
Although much of the focus has been on their domestic title chase still very much alive after Manchester City’s slip-up at Everton, Arsenal have quietly been dominant in Europe, rarely looking vulnerable.
The atmosphere matched the occasion, with fans welcoming the team bus with flares and chants for the first time, setting the tone for what Arteta called an unforgettable night.
Arteta praised the unity between the team and supporters, calling it a historic moment for the club.
He expressed immense pride, highlighting the energy inside the stadium and the importance of the achievement as Arsenal reach the Champions League final for only the second time in their history.
