Marcus Rashford produced a brilliant free-kick as Barcelona defeated fierce rivals Real Madrid to clinch their 29th La Liga title with three matches still to play.
The England international opened the scoring before Ferran Torres added a second with a composed finish, helping Hansi Flick’s side dominate El Clasico at the Nou Camp.
Both goalscorers dedicated their celebrations to Flick after the recent passing of his father over the weekend.
The title triumph moves Barcelona closer to Real Madrid’s record tally, now sitting seven championships behind their rivals after securing consecutive league crowns.
An outstanding run of 11 straight league victories has powered Barcelona to the title, leaving them 14 points clear at the top a lead Real can no longer overturn.
Barcelona’s dominance at home has been a key factor in their success, with this win marking 18 victories in 18 league games at the Nou Camp this season.
Rashford set the tone early, curling a superb free-kick into the top corner beyond Thibaut Courtois, whose slight touch was not enough to stop the ball from finding the net.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 18th minute through a slick attacking move, as Dani Olmo’s clever flick released Torres, who calmly finished past the goalkeeper.
Real Madrid entered the match surrounded by tension after reports of a dressing-room clash between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, the latter missing the game with concussion suffered during the altercation.
Despite the pressure surrounding manager Alvaro Arbeloa, Real struggled to respond, with Gonzalo Garcia wasting one of their few first-half opportunities.
Rashford nearly grabbed a second goal but was denied by an excellent save from Courtois, while Vinicius Junior’s best chance after the break was shut down by Barcelona keeper Joan Garcia.
As the final whistle approached, chants of “Championes, Championes” echoed around the revamped Nou Camp, celebrating another league title for Barcelona, with Robert Lewandowski nearly adding a late third goal.
