The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC denies) allegations of denying the Police Service Commission (PSC) access to its verification server, affirming that its identity verification systems are fully operational and accessible to all authorized agencies, including security organizations.
In a statement issued Thursday by Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, the commission described recent media reports suggesting a service denial as misleading. He clarified that any technical difficulties faced by the PSC may stem from internal operational issues, not from NIMC’s infrastructure.

Dr. Adegoke emphasized that all formations of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), along with the PSC and other security agencies, have enjoyed uninterrupted access to NIMC’s National Identification Number (NIN) verification services for over five years.
He also noted that NIMC has played a crucial role in supporting national security, recruitment, and cybercrime control efforts by providing consistent identity verification services in collaboration with the ICT department of the Nigeria Police Force.

In addition, the commission pointed out that its verification framework was recently reviewed and standardized in consultation with the Office of the National Security Adviser. According to NIMC, the Police Force has since confirmed continued access to verification platforms.
NIMC reaffirmed its commitment to providing seamless verification support for the PSC and other security stakeholders but stressed that all partners must adhere to established protocols to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
