The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has charged wives of local government chairmen in Kogi State to embrace women empowerment initiative at the grassroots.

Hajia Sefinat Ododo stated this when she received wives of the 21 Local Government Chairmen in Kogi State, who paid her a courtesy visit at her office in Lokoja.

She urged wives of the chairmen to key into the various intervention programmes championed by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, particularly through the Renewed Hope Initiative which he noted has continued to uplift women, strengthen families, and provide hope to vulnerable members of the society.

According to her, the Nigerian First Lady remains a shining example of compassionate leadership and a strong advocate for the advancement of women and children.

She expressed profound appreciation to the Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her unwavering commitment to the welfare and empowerment of women, families, and vulnerable groups across the country.

The Kogi First Lady also stressed the importance of unity, peaceful political engagement, and collective responsibility among women leaders at all levels.

She urged spouses of the local government chairmen to remain committed to promoting peace, encouraging civic participation, and supporting government initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

Hajia Sefinat further called for their support in deepening awareness of the programmes and policies of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo-led administration, emphasizing that women remain critical stakeholders in nation-building and grassroots development.

In their goodwill messages, the Wives of the Chairmen of Kabba/Bunu, Dekina, and Okene Local Government Areas, Mrs. Grace Dare, Mrs. Deborah Urah, and Mrs. Aminat Nuhu, respectively, commended Hajia Sefinat Ododo for her impactful leadership and dedication to the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable groups across the state.

Also speaking, Wife of Kogi ALGON Chairman, Mrs. Dupe Helen Olokun, described the First Lady’s numerous interventions as unprecedented, noting that they have positively impacted vulnerable households across the State.

She encouraged Mrs Ododo to sustain and expand the initiatives for the benefit of more citizens in the state.

The delegation reaffirmed commitment to supporting programmes and policies designed to empower women, youths, and vulnerable groups, pledging to work closely with the Office of the First Lady to strengthen grassroots engagement and expand the reach of developmental initiatives across the state.
