Kogi Specialist Hospital Inaugurates SERVICOM Committee to Boost Service Delivery

Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH), Lokoja, has inaugurated a 10-member SERVICOM Committee to enhance service delivery, strengthen patient satisfaction, and establish an effective feedback and complaints management system in the hospital.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Information Unit on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the committee was inaugurated by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, in the presence of the Director of Administration, Rev. Attamah Joseph, the Director of Finance and Accounts, Elder Abraham Oloruntoba, and other members of the hospital’s management team.

Dr Folagbade said the establishment of the committee aligns with the hospital’s vision of providing efficient, patient-centred, and high-quality healthcare services.

He noted that the committee would monitor service standards, promote accountability, and drive continuous improvement across all departments.

The CMD charged members of the committee to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, professionalism, fairness, and integrity, stressing that patients deserve prompt, courteous, and quality healthcare services at all times.

He added that the committee would serve as a bridge between the hospital and its patients by ensuring that complaints, suggestions, and commendations are promptly received, addressed, and used to improve service delivery.

“The committee is chaired by Mrs Abigail Oyenibi, while Mr Shola Adeyanju will serve as Secretary.

“Members of the committee are expected to oversee all SERVICOM activities within the hospital, ensure the implementation and monitoring of the Hospital Service Charter, establish and manage an effective complaints and feedback mechanism for patients and staff, organise regular training and awareness programmes on quality service delivery, submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the hospital management, and work closely with Heads of Departments and Units to ensure compliance with established service delivery standards,” the statement read.

It added that the Director of Administration, Rev. Attamah Joseph, who spoke on behalf of the management, congratulated the committee members on their appointment and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating commitment, diligence, and exemplary conduct in the discharge of their duties.

Responding on behalf of the committee, its Chairperson, Mrs Abigail Oyenibi, expressed appreciation to the hospital management for the confidence placed in the committee. She assured the CMD and the management that members would work collectively to improve service delivery, promote professionalism, strengthen public confidence in the hospital, and ensure that every patient’s feedback contributes meaningfully to continuous quality improvement.

The statement further noted that the inauguration of the SERVICOM Committee marks another milestone in the ongoing reforms at Kogi State Specialist Hospital under the leadership of Dr Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, reaffirming the management’s unwavering commitment to excellence, accountability, and patient-centred healthcare delivery.
