The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has partnered with the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, on the provision and installation of solar-powered motorised boreholes as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The intervention is targeted at improving water supply, hygiene, sanitation and patient care at the hospital.
A high-powered delegation from N-HYPPADEC, led by the Kogi State Coordinator, Michael Omeiza Ajayi, visited the hospital to formalise the water infrastructure partnership.
Installation began immediately, with the borehole sited near the Laundry and Dietetics departments, where consistent access to water is critical to daily operations.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Associate Professor Abdulrahman Shehu, commended N-HYPPADEC for its prompt response and willingness to build a meaningful relationship with its host communities.
While expressing the hospital’s gratitude for the intervention, Associate Professor Shehu described it as “a success story and a model for partnerships that drive tangible progress in healthcare delivery.”
The initiative, borne out of a collaborative partnership, underscores FTHL Lokoja’s commitment to a safe, hygienic and well-resourced environment for patients and staff.
