Lugard House Monthly Celebrates Kogi at 35
The July/August 2026 edition of Lugard House Monthly, the official newsletter of the Kogi State Government, celebrates Kogi State at 35, reflecting on the state’s journey since its creation in 1991 and key developments shaping its future.
The 13th edition, coinciding with a significant milestone in the history of the state, features Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s plans to harness Kogi’s abundant coal resources for power generation, an initiative aimed at expanding the state’s energy capacity and supporting economic development.
The edition also emphasized on the administration’s efforts to create opportunities for young people, including the provision of support for youth-led businesses, as well as the implementation of the Kogi State Development Plan and ongoing investments in critical infrastructure across the state.
As part of the anniversary celebration, the publication takes a special look at Kogi’s 35-year journey, reflecting on the state’s development, its achievements and the prospects ahead. It also celebrates the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, owners of Radio Kogi in its 35 years of broadcasting excellence, recognising its contribution to public information, education and communication as the voice of the people of the state.
The edition further showcases major road projects approved by the Kogi State Government across Ibaji, Bassa and Kabba-Bunu, among other initiatives and programmes of the administration of Governor Ododo aimed at improving infrastructure and expanding opportunities for citizens.
Through this anniversary edition, Lugard House Monthly documents not only the progress recorded under the present administration but also the broader story of Kogi State at 35 its journey, resilience, achievements and continuing aspirations for a more prosperous future.
