The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has handed over a dual-purpose borehole to the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja.
The facility, located beside the hospital’s Male Medical Ward was constructed under N-HYPPADEC’s corporate social responsibility and community development initiatives to provide reliable source of water and support effective hospital operations.
Speaking at the handover ceremony on Wednesday, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Associate Professor Abdulrahman Shehu, commended N-HYPPADEC for providing the water facility and contributing to the hospital’s infrastructure.
In his remarks, Kogi State Coordinator of the N-HYPPADEC, Dr Michael Omeiza Ajayi, said the project was undertaken in response to the hospital’s need for a reliable source of water supply.
Ajayi also commended the management of the hospital for supporting the timely completion of the project and called for deeper collaboration between N-HYPPADEC and the Federal Teaching Hospital in healthcare services, health sensitisation and medical outreaches.
