Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced that her marriage has been legally dissolved by a court.
The actress made the announcement in a statement shared on her Instagram page, saying she is ready to begin a new chapter of her life with peace, grace and dignity.
Agwu also appealed to the public to respect her privacy and that of her former partner. She noted that marriage is a personal journey and that not every relationship ends as expected.
She further stressed that people whose marriages have ended should be allowed to move on without facing public judgment, ridicule or humiliation.
In her statement, the actress said she would not disclose private details about the divorce or engage in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding the end of the marriage.
She also expressed gratitude to those who have supported her throughout her journey, adding that she is focused on healing, personal growth and the future.
“My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future,” she said.
Agwu concluded by reaffirming her decision to prioritise peace over controversy as she begins this new phase of her life.
