Manchester United have signed 16-year-old English-Nigerian midfielder David Eze from local rivals Manchester City.

The Premier League club announced Eze’s arrival on its official website on Saturday, welcoming the young midfielder to the club.

Eze spent eight years in Manchester City’s academy, progressing through the club’s youth system and representing the Under-15 and Under-16 teams.

The central midfielder has also represented England at youth level, with the Football Association listing Manchester United as his club during a recent youth squad announcement before the move was officially confirmed.

Eze is understood to have signed a scholarship deal and will be eligible to sign his first professional contract when he turns 17 in March 2027.

The teenager’s move to United adds another promising young midfielder to the club’s academy setup after his development at Manchester City.
