Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended the state’s free mobile medical outreach to inmates and personnel of the Koton-Karfe Correctional Centre, with 188 beneficiaries receiving medical screening and treatment.
The exercise, conducted on Friday by the State Ministry of Health, included tuberculosis and respiratory disease screening using portable digital X-ray technology with artificial intelligence, as well as clinical sample collection.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adams Abdulazeez, said the initiative was directed by Governor Ododo to ensure that persons in custody are not excluded from essential healthcare.
He added that similar outreaches will be extended to other correctional centres across the state.
