Kogi Governor Reinforces APC Loyalty, Lauds Tinubu’s Bold Reforms

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State visited the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja to affirm his administration’s loyalty to the ruling party and throw his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s expected re-election bid in 2027.

The visit served as both a thank-you to party leadership and a reaffirmation of Kogi’s unwavering alignment with APC ideals.

Speaking during his courtesy visit to the National Working Committee (NWC), Governor Ododo acknowledged the pivotal role the APC played in his emergence and ongoing performance as governor.

He emphasized that the direction of his government remains firmly rooted in the APC’s doctrine of inclusive, people-first governance, a model he says is already transforming Kogi State’s development landscape.

The governor cited key achievements in security, agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare as evidence of the APC’s governing effectiveness in the state. In just over a year in office, Ododo claimed his team has delivered tangible improvements in public services, restoring citizen confidence in both his leadership and the broader APC brand.

Crucially, Ododo emphasized that youth and women are being actively integrated into governance, a move he says is not just symbolic but strategic. “Inclusion is our engine for innovation and trust,” he said, noting that the infusion of new voices has fortified the party’s grassroots support and prepared it for future electoral victories, including the 2027 general elections.

He praised APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for his unifying role in keeping the party focused and nationally relevant. Ododo credited the party’s strong structure and leadership with enabling states like Kogi to fulfill campaign promises and maintain political stability despite national challenges.

On the national front, Governor Ododo offered strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the restructuring of the petroleum sector and monetary policy shifts. While acknowledging the public’s short-term difficulties, Ododo described Tinubu’s actions as necessary steps toward sustainable growth.

He predicted overwhelming public endorsement for the President in the next election, vowing that Kogi State would remain a stronghold for both the APC and Tinubu’s leadership vision.
