Manchester United extended their perfect start under Michael Carrick with a dramatic 3-2 Premier League victory over Fulham at Old Trafford, sealed by a stoppage-time winner from Benjamin Sesko.
What looked like a comfortable afternoon for the hosts turned into a tense finale, before the Slovenian striker struck late to preserve United’s momentum and send the home crowd into celebration.
United had earlier taken control through moments of quality from their experienced core. Casemiro opened the scoring with a towering header from a Bruno Fernandes delivery, before turning provider with a defence-splitting pass that Matheus Cunha finished emphatically into the top corner.
Fulham, however, refused to fade quietly. Raul Jimenez reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after a foul in the area, before substitute Kevin stunned Old Trafford with a superb long-range strike to level the score.
Just as the contest appeared destined for a draw, Sesko delivered the decisive moment. Showing composure and instinct inside the penalty area, he swivelled sharply before firing beyond Bernd Leno to restore United’s lead deep into stoppage time.
