NIPR Kogi Welcomes New Members, Warns Against Unregulated Practice

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kogi State Chapter, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening professionalism within the public relations industry by welcoming newly inducted members into its fold.

The Chapter Chairman, Ismaila Isah, described the development as a positive step toward promoting ethical standards and structured communication practice across sectors.

Speaking in a statement issued on Friday, Isah congratulated Dr. Mohammed James Dada and Mr. Emmanuel Treasure Korede on their induction as associate members of the Institute.

He noted that their successful admission reflects a clear dedication to upholding the principles and standards that define professional public relations practice in Nigeria.

The chairman emphasised that the inclusion of new members strengthens the Institute’s resolve to build a credible and responsible communication ecosystem.

According to him, practitioners who align with the Institute’s values play a vital role in enhancing reputation management, institutional trust, and strategic communication within both public and private organisations.

Isah further expressed optimism that the newly inducted members would bring fresh perspectives and contribute meaningfully to the Chapter’s programmes and initiatives.

He stressed that their participation would not only benefit the Chapter but also advance the broader development of public relations as a recognised profession in the country.

In a broader appeal, the NIPR Kogi chairman urged individuals currently practicing public relations without formal affiliation to take advantage of the Institute’s upcoming training and induction opportunities.

He noted that regularising membership status remains essential for practitioners seeking legitimacy and compliance with professional standards.

He warned that operating outside the regulatory framework of the Institute could amount to a violation of established guidelines and relevant laws governing the profession.

Isah reiterated that formal membership is not merely symbolic but a statutory requirement designed to ensure accountability, professionalism, and adherence to ethical conduct.

The chairman also commended members of the Chapter participating in the 2026 NIPR Week in Kaduna, describing their involvement as a demonstration of commitment to continuous learning and growth.

He encouraged all members, particularly the newly inducted associates, to remain active in Chapter activities and uphold the values of integrity, excellence, and lifelong professional development.
