Kogi Govt Inaugurates Committee for Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up Project

The Kogi State Government has officially inaugurated the State Technical Committee (STC) of the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) Project.

The inauguration ceremony was carried out on behalf of the State Accountant General, Habibat Tijani, by the Director of Treasury, Ikusemoro Samuel.

According to him, the inauguration follows the constitution of the Multisectoral Structural Committee approved by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as part of efforts to strengthen women empowerment and grassroots development across the state.

He noted that the committee would provide technical and operational support aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of the programme and maximising its benefits for citizens.

Samuel urged members of the committee to remain proactive, committed and focused in carrying out their duties, stressing the need for proper implementation of the project to achieve meaningful impact for women.

He stressed that meticulous foresight are mandatory to ensure the NFWP-SU successfully hits its project development goals and delivers measurable life changing outcome for women across the state.

Earlier, the State Project Coordinator of the NFWP-SU, Esther Ameadaji, lauded Governor Ododo for his commitment to women-focused initiatives and for creating an enabling environment for women to thrive.

She explained that the programme is designed as a multi-sectoral intervention involving Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure that the structural synergy ensures that every technical resource, institutional support and expertise required for the project’s absolute success is fully integrated.

Ameadaji noted that the State Technical Committee would immediately begin its operational responsibilities, including reviewing annual work plans, preparing Memoranda of Understanding and conducting regular monitoring and evaluation of project activities.

She also appreciated the State Accountant General for her leadership and support in facilitating the timely inauguration of the committee.

Similarly, Chairperson of the State Technical Committee, Raji Bilikisu Omeneke, expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for his commitment to gender-focused development programmes in the state.

She also commended the Accountant General for her administrative support and leadership in ensuring the successful inauguration of the committee.

Omeneke assured that members of the committee would work together and transparently towards achieving the objectives of the programme and delivering impactful results in the state.
