Apple has unveiled its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, describing it as a major redesign of its flagship smartphone.
The device was launched on Wednesday at Appleās product event, which also featured the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, updated AirPods and new Apple Watch models.
According to CNN and The Independent, the iPhone Duo has a foldable design and a 7.6-inch continuous display when unfolded, making it the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever produced.

When folded, the device has a screen roughly the size of a passport, while its controls, including the home-screen dock and status indicators, have been moved to the right side of the display to make them easier to reach.
Presenting the device, Appleās new Chief Executive Officer, John Ternus, criticised existing foldable phones, saying they felt like ātwo phones awkwardly stuck together.ā
The unveiling marked Ternusā first Apple product event as CEO after taking over from Tim Cook earlier this month.
The iPhone Duo is expected to cost more than $2,000, according to The Independent, which described the device as a complete redesign of Appleās most iconic product.
Apple also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with the Pro model starting at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299.
The prices are higher than those of last yearās iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, which started at $1,099 and $1,199 respectively, according to CNN.

The iPhone 18 Pro features a variable-aperture camera that allows users to adjust how much light enters the lens, while Apple said its new thermal management system would help control the devicesā temperature.

Apple also introduced the Apple Upgrade programme, allowing customers to make monthly payments over 12 or 24 months and upgrade to a new iPhone at the end of the lease.
The company unveiled the AirPods 5, which feature improved sound quality and noise cancellation, as well as Siri AI tools, including live translation.
The new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 also received health and artificial intelligence upgrades.
The watches will feature a new āReadinessā score combining usersā recent activity, vital signs and sleep, while a new Audio Intelligence feature will allow them to identify sounds such as sirens and alarms.
Apple said the audio features would not store recordings and that the audio would be end-to-end encrypted.
The event marked Ternusā first keynote as Apple CEO, with the new chief executive presenting the companyās latest products and outlining his vision for its future.
