Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has announced the postponement of its 26th Inaugural Lecture earlier scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Uredo Omale. The university said the lecture was postponed following the Federal Government’s declaration of Tuesday as a public holiday to mark the 2026 Eid Maulud celebration. The lecture has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the same time and venue as earlier scheduled. The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has uncovered new methods allegedly being used by terrorist financiers to conceal the identities of those controlling illicit funds, including the use of women’s bank accounts, pre-registered SIM cards and phone numbers linked to deceased persons. The disclosure was contained in the NFIU’s 2025 Annual Report, which identified weak customer identification controls and disconnected links between SIM cards and Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) as emerging enablers of terrorist financing and other financial crimes.
